The Championship club are conducting an exhaustive process for a new appointment and have now held positive talks with Bilic, who is a genuine contender. The former West Ham and Croatia manager is understood to be interested in the position, but West Brom still have other candidates on their list. West Brom have interviewed former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic over the vacant position Hawthorns hierarchy have spoken to Chris Hughton but it is believed he may want a break after leaving Brighton. Wolfsburg’s Bruno Labbadia has also met with board members but is further down West Brom’s priorities. The club hold an interest in Chris Wilder, who guided Sheffield United to the Premier League from League One, but it remains to be seen whether they could prise him away from Bramall Lane. Bilic last worked in England at West Ham between 2015 and 2017, before leaving Saudi side Al-Ittihad in February.
