Sportsmail's racing expert Robin Goodfellow dishes out his tips ahead of Saturday's meetings at Haydock, Newmarket, Lingfield, Chepstow, Chelmsford City and Beverley.

Play it safe to get in the money in the televised races at Haydock by going for a selection with both a proven track record and the ability to handle the heavy going.

SAFE VOYAGE (Haydock, nap, 3.35) has raced three times at the Merseyside track and won every time for trainer John Quinn (below).

After being hampered by a series of niggling injuries early in his career, Jason Hart’s mount is now really healthy and flourishing heading into Saturday's Group Three Betway John Of Gaunt Stakes.

That was clear when he had two of Saturday's opponents — runner-up Mankib (beaten a length and a quarter) and fourth-placed Suedois (beaten three and a half lengths) — behind him in last month’s Listed Spring Trophy run over today’s seven-furlong distance.

Mankib has a 3lb pull but the turn of foot that Safe Voyage produced understated his superiority and he should confirm the form.

The biggest danger comes from Sir Dancealot who won two Group Two prizes over seven furlongs last season. Sir Dancealot also ran respectably on his seasonal debut when beaten just over six lengths behind Mustashry in the Group One Lockinge Stakes at Newbury when the mile distance stretched his stamina. However, he has not won on the six occasions he has faced soft or heavy going.
