David Warner became the fifth batsman at the Cricket World Cup to be handed an unexpected reprieve after his bails failed to be dislodged by the ball on Sunday.

The Australian opener dragged onto his stumps from a Jasprit Bumrah delivery, but the impact failed to remove the zing bails on top, leaving him not out.

He went on to score 56 but could not prevent the Aussies falling to a 36-run defeat by India at The Oval.
