England Women got their World Cup campaign off to a sizzling start, with a hard-fought victory over neighbours Scotland in the Stade de Nice.
An opening penalty from Nikita Parris got the Lionesses on their way, before Ellen White doubled the margin in the second half.

Karen Bardsley stood firm in goal but was often left exposed by the defence on occasion
Bronze – Showed her class with some dangerous balls into the box and clever interplay with Parris. Clear she will be invaluable moving forward. 7
Houghton – Sloppy ball out the back set up Scotland’s goal, but on the whole was commanding under
