Ash Barty is planning to relax with some golf in the Midlands with the possibility of meeting up with her British relatives in the wake of her French Open triumph on Saturday.
The 23-year-old Australian plans to stride the fairways of the Belfry as she recharges from her exploits at Roland Garros that were missed by her parents, who arrived in the UK on the morning of the final and headed straight up north rather than divert to Paris.
Barty's mother Josie has British parentage: 'They were with family. I have some great aunts and uncles in Nottingham. They were with them at their place all glued to the TV,' said the new champion.
