The former Tottenham star had been in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest last Monday following his return from the Champions League final in Madrid. Leyton Orient confirmed Edinburgh, 49, had passed away on Saturday - just weeks after he had guided them back to the Football League. Justin Edinburgh died at the age of 49 after suffering a cardiac arrest last Monday Edinburgh proudly holds the National League trophy with his son Charlie back in April Charlie posted an emotional and poignant message on Twitter on Monday afternoon Edinburgh's son Charlie took to Twitter on Monday to write a poignant message after Orient posted a montage to honour his life. 'My Best Friend, My Hero and Best Dad you could ever ask for,' he wrote. 'You made all of my dreams come true and shaped me into the man I am today. I will look after the girls. Love you Big Man see you soon. So Proud.' Tributes poured in for Edinburgh over the weekend with Orient chairman chairman Nigel Travis admitting everyone at the club was 'completely heartbroken' by the news. 'Totally and utterly devastated. You were so much more than a manager to me,' Orient captain Jobi McAnuff said. Edinburgh leaves behind his wife Kerri and their children Charlie and Cydnie 'Just doesn’t feel real coming so soon after sharing some of my happiest moments with you. My thoughts, love and prayers go to the family at this truly terrible time.' His former club Tottenham, who he played over 200 games for, were also quick to honour Edinburgh. They wrote: 'We are deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of Justin Edinburgh. 'Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts go out to his family and friends at this terribly difficult time as well as everyone that worked alongside Justin at Leyton Orient.'
