The Brit came off his bike during a reconnaissance of the 26.1 km individual time trial course on stage four in Roanne, and reports in France claim the Brit has suffered a suspected broken pelvis. L'Equipe write that Froome hit a wall during his ride, before a team official revealed the news about his fractured pelvis. Chris Froome was injured during a crash ahead of stage four of the Criterium du Dauphine The Brit's participation in next month's Tour de France could be in jeopardy after the crash Brit Froome (third right) pictured riding during stage three of the Dauphine on Tuesday Taking to Twitter for an official update, his team wrote: 'Team Ineos can confirm that Chris Froome crashed during a recon of stage four of the Criterium du Dauphine today. 'He is currently on his way to a local hospital and won't start today's fourth stage. We will provide a further update in due course.' The 34-year-old was taken to the Centre Hospitalier de Roanne for X-rays and scans in the Roanne region of central France. Froome was planning to use the Criterium du Dauphine as a final preparation for the upcoming Tour de France, which takes place over three weeks from Saturday July 6 to Sunday July 28. In fact, five of the last seven winners of the Dauphine have gone on to top the podium in Paris - three of those occasions being Froome himself.
