Speaking on https://www.instagram.com/p/Byr7jMICPy_/, van Damme said: 'I'm not coming with good news, I was hospitalised again on Tuesday. 'There will be a bone marrow transplant, for which donors are already being sought worldwide. 'Be sure to register as a donor at the Red Cross, you can help many other people with that too. 'It will be a long hellish fight, but I will continue to fight and will never give up.' Cercle released a statement outlining that they will give their full support to van Damme Van Damme, who joined Cercle as a youth player before first stepping up to the senior squad in 2014, made three appearances last season. Last month he signed a one-year contract extension having been given the all clear. Cercle revealed that they will keep van Damme's No 16 shirt free next season and stated that they will give their full support to the goalkeeper. A statement read: 'Cercle Brugge will do everything it can to support Miguel Van Damme and his family during this process in order to make his recovery run as quickly as possible. 'A cure for Miguel is an absolute top priority for Cercle Brugge. Out of respect for Miguel, Cercle Brugge will not be awarding his number 16 in the group of players next season.'
