Paul Pogba sensationally admitted he may leave Manchester United amid interest from Real Madrid but the Frenchman's departure would leave a massive void at Old Trafford. 

Often maligned since re-joining from Juventus for £89million in 2016, the statistics paint a different picture, one of a man integral to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side. 

Pogba's form has varied dramatically over the past three years but he ranks among the Premier League's elite in terms of goals and assists. 

The 26-year-old World Cup winner has netted 24 times in England's top flight, with only five midfielders contributing more goals than him. 

And he's provided a valuable service to team-mates too, laying on 23 assists in the same time frame, ranking him fourth.

Perhaps Zinedine Zidane has seen through the negativity surrounding Pogba and his interest is supported by the numbers. 

With Real's lethal forward line of Eden Hazard, Vinicius and Karim Benzema, Zidane will be confident that his compatriot would add another key attacking component in La Liga next season. 

Pogba has contributed to 47 goals for United in 95 matches. His output on paper puts him among the very best in England and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains highly reluctant to part ways with a man who he believes will be crucial in the rebuilding job he has on his hands.
