The Colombian has long been out of favour in the Spanish capital, having spent the last two years on loan at Bayern Munich. He will join up with his former Madrid and Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti in Naples on what will initially be a £8.9million one-year loan with an option to purchase for £26million. James Rodriguez is in line to move to Napoli on a one-year loan deal from Real Madrid Real Madrid had hoped to sell the 27-year-old but were unable to find a club willing to stump up the transfer fee and wages required. Rodriguez joined the Madrid giants in 2014 for £63m after a hugely impressive string of performances for Colombia at the World Cup. However he struggled to nail down a regular first-team place, making 111 appearances and scoring 36 goals before being allowed to move to Bayern Munich on a two-year loan in 2017. After 67 games and 15 goals the Bavarians opted against purchasing the player, paving the way for a move to Naples.
