Rangers have rubbished claims Derby County made an approach to Steven Gerrard and insisted he remains committed to his job at Ibrox.
The Pride Park club are resigned to losing boss Frank Lampard, who is the hot favourite to return to Chelsea to take over from Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Reports on Tuesday claimed the East Midlands club had identified Gerrard as a potential successor to his former England team-mate - only for the Rangers boss to reject a move to the English Championship.

But a Rangers spokesman said: 'Let's get one or two things clear. Our manager has not been approached and he remains 100 per cent committed to the job he has here.' Ironically, Derby are due at Ibrox for a pre-season friendly next month.
