The Italian was named as the new Juventus manager at the weekend following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri. After finally agreeing his departure with Chelsea after just one season in England, Sarri is now back in his homeland and already getting down to work. Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is back in Italy after landing in Turin on Wednesday The 60-year-old is set to be unveiled as the new manager of Juventus on Thursday Sarri is greeted upon his arrival at Caselle Airport as he prepares to take on a new role He touched down in Turin in the evening and was immediately given a tour of the Juventus training ground by club directors Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici. He will be presented in front of the press on Thursday. The 60-year-old agreed a contract believed to be worth around £18m on Sunday, after Juventus and Chelsea had agreed a £7m compensation fee. Sarri told Chelsea he wanted to leave after leading them to Europa League glory in Baku last month as he wanted to be closer to his family. Sarri was given a guided tour of Juventus' training facilities by Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici Nedved gestures towards Sarri as he shows the new Juve manager his new surroundings Sarri previously managed Napoli before taking the Chelsea job last July. He took them to a second-placed finish behind Juventus in the 2017-18 campaign. Frank Lampard is Roman Abramovich's top choice to take over from Sarri at Stamford Bridge. Sportsmail revealed on Monday that the Blues' all-time leading goalscorer was scheduled to meet Chelsea owner Abramovich in the coming days to finalise his return to Stamford Bridge as manager. The discussions are expected to take place abroad, with a location in the south of France a potential venue.
