Aidy Boothroyd insisted he will not quit as England Under 21 head coach as he stood by his decision to not start Phil Foden.

England are out of Euro 2019 after losing their second consecutive game in the tournament to Romania. It is their worst performance at this tournament since 2013 in Israel, when they were also eliminated after losing their first two games.

Boothroyd is in charge of talented group and he recognises that there will be questions to answer when he returns to St George's Park. But the Football Association awarded him a two-year contract extension before this tournament and he intends to honour it.
