Celtic have swiftly kicked out Arsenal's opening offer of £15m for Kieran Tierney.

As Sportsmail first revealed, Gunners boss manager Unai Emery has put the left back at the top of his summer wish list and is determined to fend off interest from Italian giants Napoli to land him.

But his initial valuation of the Scotland international fell miles short of the figure that would catch Celtic's eye with Parkhead sources believing Tierney could fetch up to £25m in the current climate.

The development came after manager Neil Lennon admitted he was anticipating interest in players including Tierney and Olivier Ntcham.

Ntcham, a £4.5m signing from Manchester City two years ago, has long-standing interest from Porto plus Lyon and Marseille standing by to offer him a return to France.

Lennon was on Friday night preparing to welcome David Turnbull to the club as the Motherwell man put the finishing touches to his move with FC Copenhagen right back Peter Ankersen also a target.

Revealing that he hoped to add up to another six new faces in this window, the Celtic manager didn't rule out the possibility of players who've been central to the club's ongoing success over the past two years moving on.

'I would expect bids,' Lennon said when asked about Tierney and Ntcham.

'We're realistic and I'd be surprised if there weren't any offers for them, put it that way because they're both extremely talented players.

'So I may have a decision to make but there's been nothing for us to think about yet. For someone so young, Kieran already has vast experience - he's played Champions League, Europa League, internationals and he's won trophies.
