England's Jill Scott said ahead of Thursday's World Cup quarter-final that the team are better prepared than ever before and have no excuses if they do not perform against Norway.

Scott, who has been to four World Cups and has 140 caps, believes the English women's top flight turning professional last year intensifies the need to defeat the world No 14 nation, in temperatures expected to touch 25C at Le Havre's Stade Oceane.

The 32-year-old midfielder said: 'It's just everything (that is more advanced) and that's where you feel like you have to repay everybody for what they're putting into you.'
