Breakdancing, skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing have been provisionally included on the programme for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, the International Olympic Committee has confirmed.
The decision was made by IOC members on the second day of the organisation's 134th session in Lausanne and it rubber-stamped a proposal made by Paris 2024's organising committee earlier this year.
The inclusion of breakdancing - or breaking, as the sport is known - will perhaps surprise some but it was part of the Youth Olympic Games programme in 2018 and will feature in the inaugural World Urban Games in Budapest in September.
