The pair were meant to face off on July 12 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in what had been billed as an 'India vs Pakistan' boxing match, but Goyat will not be able to take part after 'severe injuries to his head, face and arm'. A statement has been released by Bill Dosanjh, the promoter of the Super Boxing League, explaining they will now need to find a replacement for Goyat. Amir Khan's fight against Neeraj Goyat in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on July 12 has been cancelled It read: 'We are very sad to inform that our star Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat who was preparing for his mega-fight against Amir Khan met with a car accident last night that has caused him severe injuries. 'He is currently in hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery. We are in the process of looking for Neeraj's replacement. 'Please bear with us till we announce the new opponent of Amir Khan.' Goyat will not be able to take part after 'severe injuries to his head, face and arm' from a crash Khan had eyed the fight with Goyat as an opportunity to bounce back from his crushing defeat by Terence Crawford. The 32-year-old pulled out of the fight and said he was unable to continue after a low blow from the American. Khan has not fought since that April defeat against WBO welterweight champion Crawford.
