sport news Premier League top ten wonderkids U18 looking to make their mark this season

With pre-season rapidly approaching, there is a host of teenage talent with a golden chance to make an impression ahead of the Premier League season.

Liverpool fans will be eager to see new boy Sepp van den Berg in action and he'll be among those under 18s desperate to make a breakthrough.

Callum Hudson-Odoi will shoulder plenty of responsibility at Chelsea, Oliver Skipp is expected to be a part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans and Southampton's Kayne Ramsey is another to keep a close eye on.

Here, Sportsmail takes a look at 10 players aged 18 and under who could make a name for themselves.

Mason Greenwood - Manchester United (striker)

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is more than willing to give youth a chance and Greenwood has long been touted as a future star.

The striker played in three Premier League games last season and already has a taste of top flight action. Rather than swan off on holiday this summer, the two-footed 17-year-old has embarked on an individualised training programme, no doubt music to the ears of his manager.

Clearly there is a strong hunger to mirror his ability. He was top scorer at under 18 level at the age of 16 and continues to rapidly progress. If Romelu Lukaku heads off to Inter Milan, there could be plenty of opportunity for Greenwood at Old Trafford.

Sepp van den Berg - Liverpool (centre back)

The Dutchman is regarded as one for the future after Liverpool snapped him up from Zwolle and saw off competition from Bayern Munich.

But Jurgen Klopp has shown a willingness to throw young talent in should injuries or fixture congestion become a problem.

The pacey, confident defender could target Carabao Cup games for possible opportunities and no doubt he'd relish the chance to play alongside his hero and Dutch compatriot Virgil van Dijk should the chance arise.

Adam Idah - Norwich (striker)

The Norwich hitman has consistently found the net at age group levels and scored a brace for the Republic of Ireland Under 21s on debut.

Teemu Pukki, the Championship's top scorer last season, has a place in the first team nailed down but if Idah can force his way onto the bench he'll be one to look out for.

At one point last season Idah scored ten goals in 15 games and he went on to win Academy Player of the Year, even signing a boot deal with adidas.

Callum Hudson-Odoi - Chelsea (winger)

The England international has made startling strides already and given the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, will have to shoulder a great deal more responsibility now.

He threatened a move to Bayern Munich last term if he wasn't afforded more minutes but the 18-year-old will be granted his wish now.

With Frank Lampard's appointment imminent, and a transfer ban imposed,
