The Danish playmaker has been linked with a move to Real since last summer and is now entering the final year of his contract at Spurs. According to Marca, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy made contact with Madrid general manager Jose Angel Sanchez last week to talk about a possible move. Christian Eriksen has reportedly been offered to Real Madrid by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy The Spanish news outlet claimed that Madrid were interested in signing the 27-year-old last year but have now turned their attention to Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek. With just one year left on his current deal, Levy is reportedly wanting to cash in on the Dane now to provide manager Mauricio Pochettino funds to reinvest into the squad. Spurs are said to be demanding £100million for the playmaker but Eriksen's willingness to make a 'step up' to a bigger club could force Levy to lower his asking price ahead of the transfer deadline. Levy is considering cashing in on Eriksen this window to provide funds for Mauricio Pochettino Eriksen told Danish publication Ekstra Bladet earlier this summer: 'I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new. 'I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened in Tottenham, nor will it be negative. 'But I have also said that I would like to try something new.' He added: 'It depends on Daniel Levy. And another club has to come in. Or I have to sit down at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can't set a date yourself.' 'There are not many points that Tottenham cannot meet. If I have to go, then hopefully it will be a step up. '[Real Madrid] is a step up. But it requires Real Madrid to call Tottenham and say they want me. And they have not done so yet, as far as I know.' Eriksen pictured last year with long-term partner Sabrina Kvist Jensen and their baby son Eriksen scored eight goals and provided 12 Premier League assists for Tottenham last season While Zinedine Zidane has said that he is not interested in signing Eriksen this summer, it appears that a move could be on the cards after Eriksen's family were spotted in the Spanish capital looking for a house, according to The Times. Real have signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea and a number of other stars already this window as they are in need of major changes following last season's woeful La Liga campaign, which saw them finish 19 points below Barcelona. Eriksen scored eight goals and provided 12 assists in 35 Premier League appearances last season.
