Michael Owen has defended his passion for horse racing, saying it never distracted him from his football career.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Owen was asked about his regular trips to the stables and questioned over his alleged trips to events and matches via helicopter. 

'If you're banging in the goals every two minutes nobody cares,' he said. 'But when you're on the treatment table...'
