Rugby chiefs want to take the World Cup to the US after receiving a proposal to host the tournament in America in 2027 or 2031.

World Rugby, the sport’s governing body, are desperate to make it big in the States and tap into a commercial goldmine.

CEO Brett Gosper told The Mail on Sunday that there has been an ‘expression of interest’ and games could be staged in NFL stadiums.
