Lioness Lucy Bronze has revealed she was just four months away from cashing in on dual nationality status to play for Portugal. On Tuesday night the 27-year-old right-back will play against them for the first time in her England career.
The daughter of a Portuguese father and an English mother, Bronze was frustrated by the lack of opportunity to break into the senior ranks under then England manager Hope Powell - now in charge of FA Women's Super League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.
