Pep Guardiola has compared Frank Lampard’s managerial start at Chelsea to his early coaching career at Barcelona, saying: ‘When no-one trusts you, it’s perfect.’
Lampard has guided Chelsea to one place above Manchester City after 12 games of the season ahead of their clash with the Premier League champions at the Etihad on Saturday evening.
Guardiola believes Lampard’s inside knowledge of Stamford Bridge has helped him in his first season as a coach, and so too has the fact that expectations are limited.
