Pep Guardiola blamed Manchester City's slump in form on poor finishing – and claimed those issues have carried on from last season.

City scored 95 goals when pipping Liverpool to defend their title but their manager believed they should have plundered more.

Gabriel Jesus missed a glaring one-on-one chance at Newcastle on Saturday, while Raheem Sterling might have netted a dramatic winner towards the end of the 2-2 draw.
