Fallon Sherrock's success has been felt 'from New York to Melbourne' and has got people talking about the sport again, Professional Darts Organisation chair Barry Hearn believes.

Sherrock, 25, became the first woman to win a World Championship match when she beat Ted Evetts last month, before then beating number 11 seed Mensur Suljovic on her way to the third round.

And Hearn believes that moment of history has put darts back on the global map after she became only the fifth woman to play at the World Championships after Gayl King, Anastasia Dobromyslova, Lisa Ashton and Mikuru Suzuki.
