Aston Villa pair Tom Heaton and Wesley are set for scans on their knee injuries in the next 24 hours, with fears they may be set for significant spells on the sidelines.

The duo were injured in the second half of Villa's crucial win at Burnley on Wednesday and are expected to have more thorough assessments imminently.

Villa were already looking for a striker in the transfer window to give boss Dean Smith more options in attack, but Heaton's injury would force a rethink in goal.
