Tottenham had no chance of re-signing Gareth Bale in a sensational deadline day move, according to the Welshman's agent.

The star was linked with a shock return to north London which saw Spurs chairman Daniel Levy fly out to the Spanish capital to try and negotiate a deal for the 30-year-old.

However, no move came to fruition with Bale's mammoth £600,000-a-week wages proving to be a huge stumbling block for both parties.
