The Hong Kong Sevens is set to be postponed as the sporting impact of the coronavirus spreads beyond China.
Sportsmail has learned that World Rugby are preparing to announce that the world's premier Sevens tournament, which has been held annually in Hong Kong since 1976, will not take place in April as planned, although the governing body hope it can be rescheduled for later in the year.
The postponement or cancellation is a particularly unfortunate blow for rugby this year because the competition had been targeted by the 24 competing nations as crucial preparation for the Tokyo Olympics.
