It may seem like an overstatement, but it feels as though PSG's Champions League hopes could be defined by the line-up when they take on Amiens on Saturday afternoon.
Without Neymar last season, they were a blunted force in Europe's elite club competition. While much has been made on these shores of Manchester United's dramatic comeback, PSG's struggles played as big a part.
So when Thomas Tuchel revealed the Brazilian had picked up an injury on the weekend of his birthday, there were concerns he would be absent for the real test of the French champions' season — the games against Borussia Dortmund.
Neymar is a doubt for the clash with Amiens and the Champions League tie against Dortmund
Tuchel had hinted that Amiens would be a good opportunity for Neymar to return before next week's clash, commenting before they played Dijon in midweek: 'He doesn't need playing time in order to be ready against Dortmund.
'He should play when he is ready to play. We have to calculate the risk. There is another possibility to play against Amiens (on Saturday).
'Neymar is injured, we have to be patient and careful with him'.
All well and good, then, if Neymar would be available for two games on the spin to find his feet again after the rib injury.
Then after the mustard performance that saw PSG beat Dijon 6-1, Tuchel cast doubts on Neymar not only being available for Amiens but also the Dortmund clash.
He admitted: 'I can't say that he will be 100 per cent to play against Borussia Dortmund.
