The last time David McGoldrick scored for Sheffield United, Boris Johnson was stuck on the backbenches and hand sanitiser remained in plentiful supply.

But on Tuesday night, eleven months and 22 club games later, joy at long last. And thankfully for United, at the end of a long, tense FA Cup tie, it was not in vein.

Here, Reading pushed their Premier League visitors beyond 90 minutes, only for Billy Sharp's extra-time header to break their hearts.
