Ronnie O’Sullivan rocketed into the World Championship semi-finals by overhauling Welshman Mark Williams in Sheffield on Tuesday night.
Trailing 6-2 overnight, O’Sullivan lost the first frame of the afternoon but fought back to level at 8-8, winning four frames in succession including a 112 century break, one of four tons he made in the match.
The World No 6, five times a world champion, then took charge of the match in the concluding session to win 13-10, sealing victory in a re-spotted black shootout after a 60-60 tied frame having just missed an easy blue.
