Jamie Murray has found himself pushed out of Britain’s Olympic tennis team after national No 1 Joe Salisbury chose to play doubles with his brother Andy instead.
Jamie, 35, had made himself available but was overlooked after Salisbury exercised his right to pick his partner.
The situation was also brought about by Dan Evans changing his mind and deciding to go to Tokyo. British doubles No 2 Neal Skupski then opted to play with Evans instead of Jamie.

Jamie was said to be disappointed by his omission, although in recent interviews he had been lukewarm about attending what would be his fourth Games. On Thursday, he pulled out of the Viking International at Eastbourne with his regular partner, Brazilian Bruno Soares, due to a stiff neck.
British No 1 Salisbury has the pick of his compatriots because, under Olympic rules, a top 10 player — which he was at the entry date — can select who they want to play with. He and Jamie both prefer to play on the deuce side of the court
