Capacity crowds will return to major sporting events and stadiums this summer, with the Government set to confirm that rules around social distancing will be lifted on July 19.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson will say later today that spectators will not require Covid passports when turnstiles are fully reopened in two weeks, according to The Times.

Beneficiaries of a relaxation of Covid restrictions will include cricket, Rugby League, horse racing, but also football, with the EFL season due to start on August 6 and the Premier League one week later.
