The 26-year-old has been at Atletico Madrid since he was 14, but his time in Spain looks set to come to an end this summer. And according to the Mirror, the next stage of his career is set to be in England after Atletico gave Saul's team the go-ahead to negotiate a move away from the club. Saul Niguez's representatives will push ahead with securing a move to England this week Manchester United are hoping to bring Saul in to add to the earlier signing of Jadon Sancho Manchester United are in pole position to add to a summer window that has already seen them bring in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane but securing the midfielder's signature, but they will face competition from rivals Liverpool. It's reported the Spaniard wants his future decided in the next couple of weeks, before the league seasons get underway in England and Spain. While Saul's buyout clause at Atletico is £128million, a fee in the region of £40m appears to be more realistic with the club under severe financial strain. Saul has a buyout clause of £128m but a deal is likely to be struck for more like £40million In 2017, he signed a new nine-year contract with Diego Simeone's side, and it looks likely he will leave before that deal reaches the halfway mark. Saul is one of Atletico's highest earners, and has been offered to Barcelona and Juventus in recent weeks. That has included discussions over him being potentially involved in a swap deal that would see Antoine Griezmann return to Atletico. The Spaniard has a La Liga title to his name at Atletico, won last season, as well as two Europa Leagues and a Champions League runners-up medal from the 2016 final defeat to Real Madrid. Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for Saul unless they sell a midfielder, while United are expecting an offer for Paul Pogba from Paris St Germain, and so are leading the race to bring in the Atletico man as a replacement. Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are also interested but would likely need to sell a midfielder first Read more: Share or comment on this article: All rights reserved for this news site (dailymail) and under his responsibility
