Furious Tottenham supporters have accused Harry Kane of going on holiday to the Amber-listed Carribbean in order to deliberately miss the start of pre-season training and force through a move to Manchester City.

The wantaway striker has now missed two consecutive days of pre-season training at the club’s Enfield training base as he looks to force through a move to Manchester City.

The 28-year-old was due to report for duty on Monday, but Sportsmail understands the England captain must complete a 10-day quarantine period upon his return from the Caribbean – where he went on holiday after the Euros – because he has entered an Amber list destination.

UK travel rules dictate that travellers returning from Amber-listed countries must quarantine for 10 days and the persons must take a COVID-19 test on or before day two. Travellers must also get tested on or after day eight of their self-isolation period unless they are double-jabbed.

This has meant Kane's return for pre-season training has been delayed, with the striker continuously linked with an exit before the window slams shut on August 31.

However, his trip to the Bahamas has been labelled as 'convenient' by angry Spurs fans on social media while others have accused him of deliberately choosing the holiday destination in order to quarantine at the beginning of pre-season and force the issue of his exit with club chairman Daniel Levy.

In response to Sportsmail exclusively revealing that Kane is now self-isolating, one fan pointed out how the isolation period should not have been an issue if Kane returned on time and that Kane has known for months about the Amber list rules – which are due to be reviewed later this month.

'COVID isolation isn't an issue if Kane came back when he should have,' they wrote. 'These rules didn't come about yesterday. Kane has known about them for months. Him being on holiday instead of training doesn't make him look any better - if anything, makes him look worse.'

One City fan believes Kane's trip to the Carribbean is simply about Kane saving face after missing training two days on the bounce.

They tweeted: 'Absolutely STINKS of a coverup considering he was in the Caribbean the night after the Euro final.'

Another fan was left disgusted by Kane's actions, tweeting 'This behaviour from England's captain' followed by a vomiting emoji.

WHAT IS THE TEST TO RELEASE SCHEME?

Travellers into the UK from countries on the 'amber list' - such as the Bahamas - need to go into self-isolation if they are not fully-vaccinated.

They must spend 10 days in quarantine as Covid-19 symptoms could potentially appear in that time.

Those in quarantine must take Covid-19 tests on the second and eighth days after arriving into the UK - but they can release themselves from quarantine early through the 'Test to Release' scheme.

Should a person come up negative on a privately-paid-for test on day five of isolation, they can come out of quarantine - but they still must take the day eight test as previously arranged.

Travellers into the UK could face fines of up to £2,000 if they either break their quarantine or fail to take the day two and eight tests. The 'Test to Release' scheme is not compulsory.

Sportsmail also understands that as of this morning, Tottenham were unsure over whether Kane was back in the UK.

However, provided Kane is at home he will take a day five test to release Covid procedure that, provided he returns a negative result, means he could return to training by the end of the weekend or the start of next.

Nevertheless, despite the England captain’s imminent return to training, Kane remains steadfast in his desire to leave Tottenham this summer.

Privately, Tottenham are said to be as determined than ever not to sell Kane this summer.

Tottenham are refusing to comment publicly on the saga that has overshadowed their pre-season preparations, while sources close to Kane feel the developments of the past two days have been blown out of proportion.

Manchester City is Kane's preferred destination, but Chelsea and Manchester United also retain an interest in the England captain, and missing both sessions is a sign of his desperation to force through a transfer.

The player has already communicated his wish to leave Spurs and is planning to reiterate that decision to the club in a meeting this week.

How those talks develop is likely to be the key to when Kane might return to training. The striker is also adamant he has a gentleman's agreement that he can leave the club this summer.

Kane still has three years left on his deal and there are no clauses in that contract which improve his prospects of getting out of Spurs.

Despite Kane's reputation as a model professional,
