Under new rules set by cycling’s governing body, UCI, countries must send riders to at least one of the three Nations Cup competitions to be able to take a team to the worlds in Roubaix, France. But Great Britain did not send any athletes to the Nations Cup events in Hong Kong in May or Russia in July because of travel complications and arrangements already made to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics. Great Britain do not meet entry requirements for Track Cycling World Championships They are also not sending riders to the final Nations Cup event in Colombia next week because it is on the UK’s Covid-19 red list.
