Trainer Ed Walker says running Starman in Saturday's Group One Betfair Haydock Sprint Cup is a bonus and he is confident the favourite can take advantage.
Because Tom Marquand’s mount needs decent ground, Walker had not initially factored in a run at the Merseyside venue, as it was 2014 when the race was last run on going which wasn’t soft or heavy.
But with conditions in his favour, Starman faces 10 rivals, eight of which were behind him when he gave Walker the first Group One win of his training career when landing the July Cup at Newmarket.
