Conor McGregor has been advised to take a 'tune-up fight' against Nate Diaz before facing bitter rival Dustin Poirier for a fourth time in order to 'blow off the ring rust' after breaking his leg.
McGregor suffered a combined break of the tibula and fibula at the end of the first round of his trilogy fight with Poirer back in July and is still recovering after surgery.
While the Irishman is eyeing a quick return to the Octagan, former UFC star and analyst Michael Bisping has advised him against jumping straight back in to face Poirier, instead labelling Diaz as the ideal opponent.

Diaz handed McGregor his first professional defeat in 2016 with a choke submission victory before the Notorious got his revenge with a decision win later in the year.
The pair have long been linked with a trilogy fight and Bisping wants to see it happen.
'Hopefully, we see that fight,' Bisping said on the Believe You Me podcast.
'I’m not sure if he wants to come back, Conor I’m talking about, after what’s probably going to be about a year’s lay-off and fighting Dustin for the third time.
'You
