Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson claimed that he would relish the chance to replace Kevin de Bruyne in midfield and joked that the move would 'not change anything'. 

The Brazilian's goalkeeping ability may have earned him the Golden Glove award last season but his technical skills and footwork could merit him a spot outfield. 

City have a history of playing keepers outfield as Stuart Pearce brought David James off the bench as a striker in their 2005 final day showdown against Middlesbrough.
