Lewis Hamilton has shared a touching tribute to Valtteri Bottas after it was confirmed that he would be leaving Mercedes to join Alfa Romeo next season.
The 32-year-old signed a multi-year deal with Alfa Romeo after Toto Wolff decided to draft in George Russell to replace him from 2022.
Hamilton has since taken to social media to thank Bottas for his 'contribution' to Mercedes and even referred to him as his 'best teammate'.

He shared several images of himself with Bottas with the accompanying caption: 'I’m immensely proud to have worked alongside Valtteri for the last five years.
'Together, we’ve been part of a team that has delivered four Constructors’ Championships, and we’ve motivated one another to keep pushing through the ups and the downs.
'He has been the best teammate I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Your speed and resilience has been impressive but where you truly stand out to me is the human being you are and gentleman. You are greater than you know and I know there’s a bright future ahead for you.
Hamilton thanked Bottas for his contributions and called him his 'best teammate' (above)
