Pep Guardiola's row with Manchester City fans escalated on Friday as the manager refused to back down over his comments about their support.
The manager was criticised after inviting fans to turn up in greater numbers for today's clash with Southampton after 38,062 watched City beat RB Leipzig at the Etihad on Wednesday.
Kevin Parker, general secretary of the club's official supporters' group, suggested Guardiola was out of touch. The Catalan claimed on Friday to have been misunderstood.
