Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha says his passion and desire for his team to succeed causes him to 'moan' on the pitch. 

Zaha got off to a flying start in the 2021-2022 campaign by scoring from the penalty spot in the Eagles 3-0 win over Tottenham last week. However, many have criticised the winger for being too vocal this season. 

The 28-year-old has responded saying he gets 'annoyed' because he 'doesn't like losing' and claims he only 'demands more' from his team-mates as he knows what they are capable of.

'People see me moaning on the pitch it's just because I'm passionate - I don't like losing so I get annoyed,' he told TalkSPORT as quoted by Football London.  

'It's not moaning for the sake of moaning, I just demand from my team. I demand the best from the team that's why I go around moaning, and it seems negative but it's like 'I know we're better than this, I see you lot week in, week out.

'Before games, I tell some of the players: 'don't fear these badges, don't fear these names, it doesn't matter.'
