Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has revealed that he shoved Caleb Plant and then brawled with the American in their first press conference because he made a comment about the Mexican's mother.

The shocking scene ensued at the fighters' on-stage face-to-face on Tuesday to promote their upcoming super-middleweight unification bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada on November 6.

Alvarez appeared riled by something Plant said and shoved the American, who aimed a slap back at Canelo. The stage then descended into violence as both boxers went for each other and their respective teams and security intervened to stop the chaotic scene.
