Derry City manager Ruaidhri Higgins has condemned the racist abuse his player Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe was subjected to after a recent draw with Bohemians in the League of Ireland.
Higgins described the abuse aimed at the English forward as 'shameful' and 'pathetic' and said he had spoken to the 27-year-old after he was hit with vile racist messages following Monday's 3-3 draw away from home to the Dublin side.
Ogedi-Uzokwe gave Derry a 2-1 lead with a header which was soon cancelled out by Georgie Kelly, who salvaged a draw for Bohemians in the 96th minute after James Akintunde restored the visitors' lead in the 91st.
