Hurricane Lane faces a crucial work-out at Newmarket on Saturday which will determine whether he joins his Charlie Appleby-trained Godolphin stablemate Adayar in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on October 3.
The St Leger winner will be ridden by James Doyle after William Buick, Appleby’s No 1 jockey, unsurprisingly pinned his Arc colours to Derby and King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Adayar.
