Jurgen Klopp demanded Premier League action yesterday as he condemned the latest Government restrictions on players travelling back from red-list countries.

Those who return from Argentina, Brazil, Georgia and parts of Africa can now train and play immediately once back in the UK — provided they are fully vaccinated and isolate outside football hours.

They can leave once a day to train or play but otherwise cannot see their families and will be confined to ‘bespoke quarantine facilities’.

Food will be delivered and left outside players’ rooms, without any face-to-face contact and, in some cases, it would mean living in such conditions for 10 days.

Klopp added: ‘We should not forget, in our case we talk about the Brazilian players, plus Kostas Tsimikas and Sadio Mane. That would mean for the players that they go for 10-12 days with their national teams, then they go another 10 days away from their families into quarantine.
