What to KnowThe New England Patriots are 11-0 against the New York Jets since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success next Sunday. The Patriots and New York will face off in an AFC East battle at 1 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
New England fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 35-29. New England's loss came about despite a quality game from RB Damien Harris, who rushed for one TD and 101 yards on 18 carries.
The Jets came within a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons last week, but they wound up with a 27-20 loss. One thing holding New York back was the mediocre play of QB Zach Wilson, who did not have his best game: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception with only 192 yards passing.
The losses put New England at 2-4 and New York at 1-4. A pair of defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Patriots come into the matchup boasting the third fewest rushing touchdowns allowed in the league at three. As for the Jets, they rank first in the NFL when it comes to passing touchdowns allowed, with only four on the season.
