What to KnowThe New England Patriots are 11-0 against the New York Jets since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success Sunday. New England and New York will face off in an AFC East battle at 1 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
The Patriots fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Dallas Cowboys last week but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 35-29. Despite the defeat, New England got a solid performance out of RB Damien Harris, who rushed for one TD and 101 yards on 18 carries.
Meanwhile, New York came up short against the Atlanta Falcons two weeks ago, falling 27-20. One thing holding New York back was the mediocre play of QB Zach Wilson, who did not have his best game: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception with only 192 yards passing.
New England is the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. But bettors beware: they are only 1-3 against the spread when favored.
The Patriots are now 2-4 while the Jets sit at 1-4. A pair of defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: New England comes into the game boasting the third fewest rushing touchdowns allowed in the NFL at three. As for New York, they enter the contest with only four passing touchdowns allowed, which is the best in the league.
