The earliest Russell Wilson can return from injured reserve is Week 10, when Seattle travels to Green Bay to face the Packers. Based on Wilson's recent health update, it appears that the former Super Bowl champion quarterback is aiming toward being available for that game.

Wilson shared on Monday that he has had the pin removed from his surgically repaired middle finger. The Seahawks are hopeful that Wilson is recovered enough to play when the Seahawks face the Packers, according to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones.

Wilson suffered a ruptured tendon during Seattle's Week 5 loss to the Rams. Wilson's 2021 season was off to a strong start prior to sustaining his injury. He had completed 72% of his throws this season with 10 touchdowns against just one interception. Seattle split its first four games of the season before losing its Week 5 matchup with the Rams after Wilson left the game with his injury.

The Seahawks suffered two more losses to fall to 2-5 before rebounding this past Sunday with a 31-7 win over the Jaguars. Seattle received a solid game from Wilson's temporary replacement, Geno Smith. Smith, who had thrown just nine regular-season passes during the previous three seasons, went 20 of 24 for 195 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's win. In four games this season, Smith has completed 68.4% of his throws with 702 yards with five touchdowns and one interception.

Seattle has a bye this week before heading to Green Bay for a showdown between perennial playoff teams. If all goes according to plan, the game will pit two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks against one another in Wilson and reigning league MVP Aaron Rodgers
