When the Indianapolis Colts released their official inactives before their "Thursday Night Football" matchup against the New York Jets, there was a surprise name on the list. Running back Marlon Mack was listed as inactive, and he was not listed on the injury report heading into this matchup. Therefore, it appears he was a healthy scratch.

This is notable because Mack was a player many expected to be dealt by Tuesday's trade deadline. However, no deal came to fruition, and he will have to remain with the Colts until the end of the season unless he is released. Mack and the Colts had reportedly agreed to explore trade options last month. There were rumors surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs, as they had reportedly looked into a potential deal.

Mack has been a solid back, and was originally drafted by the Colts in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. His best seasons came in 2018 and 2019, when he rushed for a total of 1,999 yards and 17 touchdowns over the span of 26 games. Mack has rushed for just 101 yards on 28 carries this season, and he played only one offensive snap during Sunday's loss against the Tennessee Titans. We don't have any details on why Mack was inactive on Thursday evening, but it's possible he has played his last game as a Colt with the meteoric rise Jonathan Taylor has experienced.

Mack was not the only notable name on the Colts' inactives list, as T.Y. Hilton will also miss tonight's game. He was officially listed as questionable heading into this matchup with a quad injury.
